Oxbridge Guardians have an excellent team of staff, with years of experience in education, welfare and business. The core management team lead the successful delivery of our services across the different areas of the UK and China, with each area vital for our success.
Helen Wu
Founding Director
As the Founder and Director of Oxbridge Guardians, Helen uses her wealth of experience to benefit each student’s journey with us. Helen founded this company to ensure that excellent Educational Guardianship was provided for every student. Due to her previous experiences as an international student in the UK, Helen is able to relate to the students we provide Guardianship for and assist with the cultural changes that students may experience. Helen’s worked in the international education industry for over a decade, after graduating from Leeds University with her Masters in Business.
Steph Gilbert
UK Director & DSL
Steph leads the UK team to deliver our high quality student focused Guardianship services. With specialisms in safeguarding, compliance and policy she ensures that Oxbridge Guardians are continually exceeding the requirement for successful guardianship, allowing our focus to be on the students and their personal development and goals. As the Designated Safeguarding Lead she works with schools, parents, host families and other agencies to ensure the best possible support for our students. Steph manages our team of highly trusted Host Families, ensuring that they meet our requirements to provide the best environment for our students to live in, and oversees all UK operations to ensure a cohesive and safeguarding led approach for all students under our care. Steph is an experienced safeguarding practitioner, with prior roles as a trustee for AEGIS (one of our accrediting bodies), delivering training and support for education and charities, and governance of local schools. Her background is in international education, and so she is uniquely placed to support international students and keep them safe from harm.
Guoxun Qi (David)
Business Development Manager &DDSL
An accomplished Business Development Executive with experience in Hong Kong and Shanghai, China, David has been instrumental in the success of Oxbridge Guardians. David relocated to the UK to support his family and prioritises visiting School Partners, building relationships with client families and supporting parents of both students and prospective students visiting the UK. He has two children attending UK Independent boarding school, so has a wealth of first hand experience to share. He is also responsible for supporting our LPSO team, and works with Steph to fulfil our safeguarding commitments in his role as DDSL.
Susie Feng
Guardianship Administrator
As the Guardianship Administrator for Oxbridge Guardians, Susie is dedicated to quality assurance of our AEGIS accredited Gold Standard and certified by BSA Guardianship. Her experience and aptitude in creating systems to ensure effective record keeping and efficient travel management ensures a smooth service to all parties. Collaborating with all the team, she aims to elevate our support to all students, schools, parents and hosts and foster meaningful relationships with all parties. Susie works with all of our team providing operational and adminstrative support to ensure our service is of an impeccable standard. She’s worked in Guardianship for 4 years, and is highly skilled in a multitude of areas, particularly in marketing, administration and operations.
Fan Zhang
Student Manager & LPSO
Fan manages our team of LPSOs to support students with day-to-day issues and ensure that students, parents and schools are communicated with effectively and efficiently. Fan has personal experience with UK Independent Schools as her son is also a student, and so she can encourage and empathise with students and parents accordingly. Fan’s experience in Education is extensive and she brings this knowledge of academics and the British School system to everything she does.
